You have a good point talking about power. Try and bring in some more specific evidence to back up what you are saying. Bring in a quote to back it up. You may also describe what he was like prior to being corrupted so we can see how he has change. You do have a solid understanding of what has happened to Macbeth. Good work.

My Summative writing on my EQ

How far is one willing to go to get what they desire most?

Macbeth is willing to go very far in this third act. He wants to kill again! He is willing to kill his best friend Banquo because of the suspicions led by the witches. The three witches said that Banquo suspects that Macbeth is the murderer of King Duncan, and Macbeth cannot have that, so he seeks two servants to murder Banquo and his son Fleance just to keep his full power! Macbeth doesn't have to go this far, but he does it anyways. This connects with how does power corrupt because the power had corrupted him to do things he would have never done before his desire to be king, and desire to stay king. So in the end, Macbeth desires the thirst for power, and he was willing to kill again for it, even if he was risking a lot, like his best friend, and a risk to more people finding out he was the true murder!

Macbeth. Tragic Hero?

A tragic hero is a main character in a tragedy that had made a wrong move to lead into his or her downfall. I think that this is what Macbeth is. he is a tragic hero because he made some wrong moves, like killing Duncan, and Banquo. I think he would have never had even thought about those murderous actions if not for the three witches! They had ruined his life, I think, and made him die at the end. Lady Macbeth had also influenced him to kill and he should have listened to his own self. The power corrupted him in a way to make him kill, and therefore become a tragic hero, and it was a tragedy because he died.

Summary

I thought this might be a faster way for me to comment. I like the thought and honesty in your posts. You can see the learning and the confidence you are gaining as you have been working through this project. Your project was very original and creative to combine the two techniques and I am glad that you decide to challenge yourself and try the technology. As you are learning there are always some bumps along the ways. Similarly, Macbeth discovered that too, yet he kept after his goal to get and keep what he desired most.
Now do you think he is a tragic hero or not?

A reflection =)

1.Our group had chose our method of presentation because we thought it was different. We were hoping no one else would do something very similar to the way we presented Act 3 and no one did. Everyone likes videos, well most people do, and students tend to learn more and get it easier through visual videos. We also incorporated acting for the second part because we thought it would be more effective for our peers to see it live if they do not like videos, and also to get the old fashion appeal to the presentation!
2.For this presentation, when choosing our method, we were influenced by a number of slowmation cut out videos on youtube that we came across while researching about act 3. We thought it was so cool, and fun, and wanted to do something different and creative. 3.This project was different than past presentations because I have never done anything including a video for any of my projects. I was always to scared to do anything with technology because it might not work, and I am so scared of that happening. But in this project, I wanted to try it out and see how it worked. We had a couple of mishaps and difficulties along the way, but in the end I think it turned out great, and we had so much fun!
4.This project was probably a bit more challenging than past projects because of the work that had to go into it. The technology was difficult, but I had fun doing it!
5.I always seem to write more on my personal blog, and I think it has something to do with privacy. I tend to shy away from my own ideas when presented to other people or peers I know. I should really stop that, but it's a bad habit that I have gotten and it's pretty hard to get out of. =(

Daily Time!

Last class we finally had our presentations! I learned so much because of the helpful videos made and creativeness brought forward from my peers =) I am very excited to see the rest of the presentations, and am having a lot of fun watching them!

My Daily Blog.

Last english class, I found it very helpful to learn what other groups are doing for their Macbeth project. I liked the feedback idea, and our group thought that it was very cool to get new ideas for us to work on, and we liked the nice comments we got from our peers! Although now, making our slowmation with picture cut outs, I am finding it very frustrating but so much fun at the same time. But that's what technology is all about with me! I can never figure it out right, but I mostly get it right towards the end =)

daily. blogg.

At the past english class, our group was just about finished our project, and therefore just thinking about more ideas about music, or practicing our acting. When we got together later on to put it all together on the computer with the pictures we took, I learned how to work a movie maker program. It was so amazing, I loved using it. And I hope I get the chance to use it in the future =)

Daily and EQ =)

Last english class, I learned more about the Elizabethan language because I was making a script for our group to act with. It was difficult, but I soon got kind of used to it. I also had to change a couple of phrases and words, and add a little here, and take away some things there. But other than that, it was another great productive class!
For our act, I have picked the two essential questions:

1) How does Power corrupt?
~ well in Act 3, it just shows how the more power Macbeth wanted and fastly got, the more it corrupted him to want more and more. he tried anything in his power to keep it, and he would have never had done the things he did before he talked to the witches.

2) How far are you willing to go to get what you want?
~ In this act is shows how Macbeth is willing to kill for the second time to get full power! He is trying to hard to keep his power, and not get told on by Banquo. I can't believe he actually killed him, and he even hired two people to do it! This king is willing to practically anything to get what he wants, and I think that's wrong!

~Daily Blogs~ Last Last day, and last day =)

In the class before the last one, my group was trying to figure out exactly what we wanted to do. If we wanted to do the slowmation, or the play, or both. We ended up making a good desicion in my mind, and we are going to combine them! I am very excited, and I think everyone is going to have fun with it =)
Last class, I wasn't finding anything very challenging, because I was having a good experience talking about the play of Macbeth, and cutting out people in Act 3. This project has opened even more opinions about the play, and I am glad we are doing it =)

English class learning

In class today, I have learned been more information about Act 3 in Macbeth! I learned how to cut out stick people because we are making a slowmation for our group project! =) We learned how to work together in a group, and we had fun doing the work together.
This is working for me because I love creative projects like this, where we can decide a different approach to a project that shows our creativity and personalities to make it more fun for us and the students =) I get to understand the play even more if we work like this, and not in a boring way!

Act 3***What am I finding challenging?

What am I finding challenging? Well, Macbeth is definitely difficult without a doubt, but it is interesting, and kind of scary in a way! Aha! But right now in my group, I am finding it difficult to try and interpret our act into our own play. I would love to do it in a different aspect, like a different scenario, but I am finding that hard. So I think we might have to really think about what we want to do still =) I am really excited though! YAY!

Act 3, Group work =)

For our group, which is act 3 in Macbeth, we are going to pursue making a video to show the class, in our own interpretation. I am going to be the role of Banquo and the ghost of Banquo. Krista is playing the role of Lady Macbeth and the masked killer, Stephanie is Macbeth and Fleance and Ashley is the murderer of Banquo. Our group understands our act because we know what happens to Banquo and why and we are going to try to interpret this in modern society. Banquo dies because he's a threat to Macbeth because he suspected that Macbeth killed the king. And Macbeth wanted him killed so he hired two killers to murder him, and persuaded them to thinking that Banquo was a big threat to himself. After Banquo is killed at the feast, Macbeth starts to hallucinate and sees Banquos ghost, because of all the guilty things he has accomplished. He ends up having a melt down in front of all his guests and Lady Macbeth has no choice but to dismiss them. That's all for now! =)

Act 3 Grouping =)

This is an interesting act, not my favourite, but it definitely has a lot of action. Macbeth wants to kill again! This time it's to his threat, Banquo, because he is supposed to be suspicious of Macbeth killing Duncan. The movie really helped me understand the scenes in this act. I'm finding it very fun to see other student's interpretations of acts and their videos that they find. Here is one of the video's that has struck me on Act 3! It has a funny twist to the act, but it's fun and I got the scence with the way they had it made =) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxvHwcFGkyA&feature=related

How Far?

How far are you willing to go in order to get what you want?

In Macbeth, Macbath is willing to go very far in order to get what he wants the most, which is to be king. He is willing to kill to get it! Macbeth actually killed Duncan his King, and stabbed him in his sleep! The witches told him 3 prophecies, and since 2 of them had come true already, he knew the third would come true eventually. But eventually wasn't soon enough from him and Lady Macbeth. They wanted it now, and nothing caould stand in their way to get what they wanted. I don't think Macbeth should have killed the king, but I guess he had to if he really wanted it that badly...

Postcard

Dear Mom =)
Right now I am learning about the play Macbeth written by William Shakespeare. This is very interesting because it deals with violence, and murder which is something I detest! However, this story happens to be exciting and intriguing to me. I understand that Lady Macbeth is evil and manipulative towards her husband Macbeth, and she is trying to persuade him to kill the king (Duncan) so that his third prophecy can come true that was first said by the three witches. His first two prophecies came true, so this third one which is becoming king should come true, but he wants it now! This is what makes him kill his king! I am also learning about 6 important words which are: Loyalty, Power, Integrity, Self Worth, Humanity, and Ambition! I have learned so much just about the words themselves, and also about how you can acheive these actions or how to lose them. Well, I better go now, so I will talk to you soon! =)

p.s. write me back as soon as possible!

Kris

Act 1 Scene 5.

The passage I chose was said by Lady Macbeth while she was talking to her husband Macbeth.

O, never
Shall sun that morrow see!
Your face, my thane, is as a book, where men
May read strange matters. To beguile the time,
Look like the time; bear welcome in your eye,
Your hand, your tongue: look like the innocent flower,
But be the serpent under it. He that's coming
Must be provided for: and you shall put
This night's great business into my dispatch;
Which shall to all our nights and days to come
Give solely sovereign sway and masterdom.

This passage stood out to me because it caught my attention very quickly. It doesn't really connect to me fully, but I really seem to understand what it means. Lady Macbeth is saying how Macbeth's face is like a book, and I also have discovered that my own face is like an open book that tells others around me what I am thinking, or how I'm feeling. Furthermore, I like the words used in the text, and how evil she wants Macbeth to become. Especially how she wants him to be the innocent flower, but to be the serpent underneath. She is persuading her husband to do terrible things even though he doesn't want to do these things! Anyways, that's what stood out, and that's all for today! =)

Lady Macbeth.

Lady Macbeth...

Between the Book&Movie

The differences that I saw in Macbeth between the movie and the book in scenes 1, 2, and 3 were that in the movie the opening scene was daytime without thunder and lightening where as the book said there was, also in the movie the witches were burying a dead hand holding onto a hand. It doesn’t say this is the book. Other than that, I couldn’t find that many differences. Maybe it’s because I find it difficult to read the book. So to me, watching the movie was much easier for me to understand the story line. Reading the actual book was much more challenging because the wording of it was different, and hard for me to understand what they were really saying. In my preference, I think I would go more for the movie, and that way I get to watch it and understand while looking at visuals to help my understanding.

Desire.

What do I desire the most? Well...there are definitely many important things in my life that I love and will cherrish forever but to choose that one special thing, I just can't choose! But one of my disires is to have my 15 minutes of fame, actually I would like a bit longer than a short time period of only quarter of an hour! I think I would go pretty far for it too, like doing the craziest things just to get noticed. Or to try my hardest to become a singer, actress, or dancer! I wouldn't like to be famous forever, but I think that it would be totally awesome to be known in my country or even around the world! So yeah, I'd go pretty far, and I'd do pretty much anything for it! =)

I see you have a an understanding of the general way the play is going to go. I am glad to hear that the visuals that you and your peers found have helped you in this prereading activity. It should be a fun process as we work as a class through Macbeth.

New Understanding.

After doing this exercise, I now think that Macbeth is about tragedies, and killing. There's definitely a powerful king in play and he has the most power, even to kill. All of my peers have included many visuals to explain the themes of Macbeth, and that has definitely helped in the understanding of this play written by William Shakespeare.

Macbeth.

Macbeth. What can I say about it? Well it's a very famous play, and most people have heard about it. I don't know a whole lot about it, but I do know that people along time ago weren't allowed to speak of the name "Macbeth". I also know that it was written by the famous legend William Shakespeare who has died. I had already learned about the play of Romeo and Juliet, and I found that play very interesting and dramatic. I also love the ballet of Romeo and Juliet. =) I absolutely adore the love story in it, but dislike how it ends in sadness of death. I would like to learn more about Macbeth, and hopefully be just as intrigued as I was for Romeo and Juliet!

Visuals.

I found the videos much more interesting becuase they caught my attention. They said something important, and instead of just listening to groups talk about their word, we got to experience it, and hear even more about it! You can get a lot out of someone else's opinion in a video, and i found that very helpul =)

It is interesting that words we uses and hear every day can mean so many things to different people. As you indicate it depends on the context and they are all correct. Why was it that watching the clips or seeing the pictures made it more interesting do you think? I am glad that finding the visuals helped you better understand the terms as well. This will in turn help you see the big ideas as we look at our short stories and common texts.

Last english class I had learned about many words that were strong, and meaningful in everyone's everyday life. What I learned, and what stood out was that many people had different interpretations of their given word. But the thing was, they were all right. Those six words can be defined in many ways, good or bad. I could have said one thing about humanity, and another student might have said something else that also was correct. But both definitions are your own words, and can stand out to the class and make them listen. I listened, and had fun watching the videos or looking at pictures that the groups presented as their visuals, and I'm glad we did this assignment becuase I now know even more ways to think about Power, Integrity, Self Worth, Humanity, Loyalty, and soon to learn about more of Ambition!

My day with Humanity*

In class today, I got the opportunity to learn a topic on humanity with my group. While researching different aspects of the term, we found video clips, and more blogs about humanity! The one thing I learned about this topic was that we tend to follow others, it's our nature, and that people seem to think that being unique is bad, just becuase it's not our human nature! I find that untrue. It's okay to be different. =)
One thing that I found pretty intresting in my findings today was the video I saw on youtube. It had a lot of little facts that I thought was amusing.
Hello There !
welcome to my blog =)
